Ayla catch up

Here is a video I had been meaning to post. I took it at least 5 weeks ago. That might as well be years in infant terms! For example, the dress in the video doesn't even fit her anymore and she's much stronger now too. But I think it can still feed the need for an Ayla-fix ;-)

Milestone

During this banner year, how could I forget that this week is my 10th anniversary with IBM ?!?!

10 years... Wow. Bob calls me "A Lifer". I don't know, I refuse to believe that my future is already written. It certainly hasn't been the "two and through" experience I thought it would be when I graduated college. Then again, in 2000 all wide-eyed and optimistic, I didn't expect EVERY "bubble" to burst within 10 years. I won't get into all my thoughts on that here, this is a post of celebration.

Starting IBM provided a path to some great rewards not only professionally but also personally that I still cherish today... Bob and I had a fresh start in New York and made some amazing friends.

On my first day of work, there was this class called BOV or "Becoming One Voice" LOL yes, it really was called that, where I met Kim, my maid of (dis)honor and Edil, a dear friend. If I had only known then!

That first year, there was a number of colleagues celebrating their 25th anniversaries with IBM and I remember thinking they were Ca-Razy! And here I am almost halfway there OMG!

Ten years should mean something in these times and even in this economy. I didn't receive a handshake nor a slap on the back. In fact, I'm not entirely sure my manager is aware. I did, however, receive an automated email saying congrats and telling me to pick a gift from a swanky online retailer, but perhaps that is also a sign of the times. C'est la vie.

Go Big Blue! What? I've been assimilated.

What will the next 10 years bring? I don't know, I'm excited to find out, but DEFINITELY NOT in any rush!
