Hi Everyone! we've had another fun and busy year! Many good things happened this year, from travel and birthdays to weddings and babies, festivals and celebrations, old friends and new, even career successes we wished 2008 goodbye and toasted to hopefully another good year in 2009.

  • Kari selected for IBM Technical Leadership Exchange
  • Weekend Getaway to Monterey
  • Jessica (Bob's sis) got married!
  • Phoenix, AZ to visit Elle in the hospital
  • Our friends had quintuplets!
  • Refinished Deck
  • Spent nearly every weekend in June at the Pool
  • Kenny and Heidi moved back to CA from Singapore...
  • With Kari's new baby Niece, Gabriella Gianella!
  • We celebrated our 2nd (wedding) anniversary in Hawaii
  • Travelled to Germany for Kim and Ralf's wedding
  • Bob selected to speak at Search Engine Conference!
  • Saw Madonna in concert... again, and in better seats ;-)
  • Visited da burgh for the first time in almost 3 years
  • Annual Xmas/engagement celebration trip to Squaw Valley
  • Ended the year in Portland, OR continuing a Cousin's Weekend Tradition (west coast style)
  • Festivals and celebrations: Gilroy Garlic Festival, Italian Street Festival, Campbell Oktoberfest, Silver Oak Release Party, Campbell Crazy Hat Bar Crawl

    Hello Everyone. It's been a VERY busy year! We bought a new house, remodeled a bathroom, took a trip to the Carribean and a trip to Italy! Not to mention we both turned (cough, cough) 30.



    10/01/2006

    Thanks to EVERYONE who came to California to celebrate our wedding day with us! I know many of you felt it was a LONG time coming!. We had a WONDERFUL - FANTASTIC honeymoon in the South Pacific! We couldn't have done it without all of the generous gifts towards our honeymoon - so thank you - we saw so many great things and have many, many stories (remember to ask Bob about losing his wedding band...). We find excitement everywhere we go! We visitd Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea and Bora Bora so please check out our pictures on Flickr! We also bought an underwater case for our camera so we have great underwater snorkeling pictures and movies

    What is kariandbob.com all about?

    Since Bob and I are both computer engineers (Yahoo and IBM respectively) and have moved around a lot we decided to make our own website dedicated to pictures and stories of our adventures as a small attempt to stay connected to our family and friends all over the world

    San Jose is 1 hour South of San Francisco and 1.5 hour S of Napa Valley

    San Jose is 1 hour North of Big Sur, Pebble Beach and Monterey Bay.

    It also is 4 hours South-West of Lake Tahoe or even Yosemite National Park


    History of Kari Gianella and Bob Briski

    • We were both born in Pittsburgh, PA.

    • Bob grew up in West Virginia until the age of 14 when his family moved back to the North Hills of Pittsburgh.

    • Kari grew up in Pleasant Hills (part of the South Hills of Pittsburgh)

    • Bob attended Shaler high school where he graduated in 1995.

    • Kari attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated in 1996.

    • We both attended University of Pittsburgh School of Computer Engineering where we met in January of 2000.

    • Kari graduated Pitt Computer Engineering August 2000 and moved to New York to work for IBM.
    • Bob graduated Pitt Computer Engineering in August 2001 and also moved to New York.

    • We lived in the lower Hudson Valley (a 45 min train ride away from Grand Central Station Manhattan) for 4(1/2) years.

    • Outside of careers, Bob played Rugby for the Hudson Valley Rebels and Kari coached Varsity Cheerleading at a local high school.

    • In January 2005 we moved to San Jose, California, where we have been ever since!

    • Even though we both have the same degrees, our careers are extremely different from one another.

    • Bob works in Internet SEO/SEM (Search Engine Optimization and Marketing)

    • Kari is now a Software Product Manager within IBM
