Zara 6 mos

It's been a while since my last post - the iphone blogger app lost and deleted a post that took forever for me to type and I got discouraged and gave up for a while!
In the meantime, I've been busy here is info on the little munchkin Zara...

Zara is seriously the happiest baby. She is constantly smiles. And when you smile at her she wiggles her body in happiness then buries her head in my neck.

She goes to bed at 6:30 and wakes at 5:30 - trying to shift this back by an hour but no luck. By 6:30 she has us up for the day and when we are trying to get out the door and on the road to daycare she is sleeping for her first nap!

Zara definitely "turns into a pumpkin" after 6:30 - eye rubbing, head drooping, cranky pants. Ayla could (and still is able to) hang as late as possible. This makes late dinners difficult because Zara needs her bed- Ayla could sleep in her car seat anywhere.

Some facts:
Hates solids
90th percentile for height
20th percentile for weight
Says "Da da da" and "Ay ay ay" (no ma ma ma)
Champion planker
Rocks on her hands and knees but no crawling yet
Big sister reads to her and makes her laugh
Is completely different than Ayla

DIY: Tinker Bell Shoes

Santa couldn't find Tinker Bell Shoes, so we made our own today.

Here's how we did it.
Disclaimer I saw this on another blog...
First, I bought some plain silver shoes in Ayla's size at Target for $14.99 and I put blue paint tape inside to protect from the glue.

Used a seam ripper and nail scissors to gently rip off the bow

I mixed two kinds of green glitter with glossy Mod Podge in a disposable bowl.

And started to paint onto the shoe

Ayla even painted one of the shoes herself.

Once all painted, I added glitter to surface and blended in with brush

While the glue dried, I took some yarn and created little tuft balls

I hot glue gunned the balls onto the shoes

Finished product! Not too bad.

Family food and Football: Hawaiian Edition

T-minus 20 hours until we leave for Hawaii, it only makes sense that we do this theme.

Ok I know it looks like baby octopus, but it's hibiscus flower in the champagne. Remember our games are usually at 10AM

Papaya

Pineapple and....

Did I mention The Zimmers are moving back? Woot... Liver watch out!

Family, Food and Football: Italian Edition

A win against the Lions today!

I explained the premise of our Sunday Foodie Football days to a colleague at work (and a Raider fan) and his eyes lit up and he said in a patronizing tone, "ooooohhhhh the Steelers haven't had a losing season in so long that you are JUST learning to cope now- as a Raider fan, football has not been stressful for a while"

Menu: Caprese salad, meat and cheeses, meatballs, eggplant parmigiana and tiramisu. And Chianti.

And crazy kids
The cousins trying to overtake Bob

This is how Zara sleeps...
